  • The college focuses on regional forestry development, ecological security and food security, landscape and ecological civilization construction, and closely integrates with the needs of economic and social development to carry out scientific research. In the past five years, the college has undertaken more than 50 research projects, including the National 12th Five-Year Plan and 13th Five-Year Plan, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Forestry Public Welfare Industry Research Special Project, 948 of the State Forestry Administration of China, the Major Scientific and Technological Tackle of Henan Province, and the Fund for Outstanding Innovative Talents of Henan Province. More than 50 research projects, 18 national, provincial and ministerial level achievement awards, including 2 second-class national scientific and technological progress awards, 2 first-class provincial scientific and technological progress awards, 8 second-class awards, published more than 530 academic papers, published more than 30 books. There are 2 first prizes of provincial teaching achievement reform in higher education, 1 excellent achievement award of provincial Da Chuang project, and 1 special prize of school-level teaching achievement.


    The main research achievements of different teams in the college are as follows:


    Botanical research and cultivation team of paulownia: Prof. Fan Guoqiang led the team to devote to the cultivation of new varieties of paulownia, the mechanism and prevention of paulownia, and the creation of paulownia genetic information analysis platform for more than 30 years, and achieved a number of important research results, which accelerated the development of the paulownia industry, and pushed forward the scientific and technological progress of China's forestry industry. Put forward to paulownia biology research as the basis, new variety cultivation as a guide, high quality and yield efficiency as the goal of the theory of paulownia industry development; domestic and international first tetraploid paulownia new germplasm, cultivated nine traits excellent paulownia new varieties for the cultivation of forest varieties opened up a new avenue; elucidation of the molecular mechanism of paulownia bush disease, invented the paulownia bush disease prevention and treatment of drugs, and the establishment of a highly effective bush disease prevention and control of the technological system, and the development of the paulownia bush disease prevention and control system. Leading the new direction of phytoplasma disease research at home and abroad; presided over the completion of the world's first paulownia genome fine mapping, found that both the C3 photosynthetic pathway and the metabolic pathway of phloem acid is the main reason for paulownia fast-growing, laying a foundation for China's paulownia basic research of the international leading position. In recent years, Prof. Fan Guoqiang has led the team to win 2 second prizes of National Scientific and Technological Progress, 1 He Liang He Li Scientific and Technological Progress Prize, 1 Outstanding Contribution Prize of Science and Technology of Henan Province, and 6 first prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress of Henan Province; he has obtained 10 nationally authorized invention patents (Plant Breeder's Right), and cultivated 9 good varieties of paulownia; he has presided over the formulation and release of 10 national and provincial forestry industry standards, and published more than 200 academic papers with the title of first author or correspondent author. As the first or corresponding author, the team has published more than 200 academic papers and 7 academic books, which has improved the industrialization level of paulownia and helped the implementation of rural revitalization strategy.


    Multifunctional Forest Resources Cultivation Theory and Technology Team: The team is dedicated to the research and technology development of multifunctional forest resources cultivation, management, management and processing and utilization. Relying on two provincial and ministerial-level and one university-level research platforms, based in Henan and facing the whole country, the team conducts a series of scientific researches on the collection, analysis, evaluation and innovative utilization of forest germplasm resources, seedling breeding technology system of the main native species of paulownia, sambucus, bellflower, camellia, mulberry, etc., the theory and technology of the structural and functional regulation of the main types of forests in Henan, the theory and methodology of the evaluation of the process of vegetation restoration, and the system of processing and utilization of the oil of sambucus and sericulture. A series of scientific researches have been carried out and innovative results have been achieved, with the overall research level ranking at the domestic advanced level and some fields ranking at the international advanced status. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 90 projects, published more than 150 papers, issued 6 standards, selected and bred 1 provincial good seed, published 4 monographs, and 4 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievement awards.

    Forest Biomass Resource Utilization Innovation Team: Adhere to the four directions, focus on the high-value utilization of forest resources, strengthen the foundation, break the technology, cultivate the innovative thinking and practical ability of teachers and students, promote the collaboration and exploration spirit of the members, and actively promote the integration of industry, academia, research and the integration of the job to realize the synergistic development of talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain, and strive to cultivate a group of outstanding innovative talents. Cultivate a batch of outstanding innovative talents. In the past three years, it has been approved 4 youth projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 8 surface funds of China Postdoctoral Fellowship, and more than 10 other provincial projects, and cultivated more than 20 people, such as National Excellent Postdoctoral Fellowship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Henan Excellent Postdoctoral Fellowship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Young Top Talents of the Central Plains, Young Postdoctoral Fellowship in Innovation of the Central Plains, Young Top Talents in Forestry Science and Technology of Henan Province, etc.; and it has been awarded the first prize of the Invention and Entrepreneurship Achievement Prize of the Invention Association of China, Gold Award of the 1st National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Gold Award of the 1st Henan Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Gold/Silver Award of the 2nd National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, etc. Seven excellent instructors from Henan Province and seven national excellent instructors from Henan Province have been awarded the National Excellent Instructor Award for their guidance of students and postgraduates to participate in the Internet+ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Students. He has guided students and postgraduates to participate in the Internet+ Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and won 6 national gold medals and the first prize in Henan Province. The team has made outstanding contributions to the prevention and control of formaldehyde pollution of man-made boards by adhering to the principle of true scientific research, true innovation and true application, and has been honored by Henan Province with 3 great merits and 11 merits.


    Economic Forest Oriented Cultivation and Utilization Team: Led by Prof. Zhang Dangquan, the team focuses on the cultivation of new varieties of economic forest species, high-quality, high-yield and high-resistant cultivation, high-value processing, and by-product utilization, and carries out the research on the key theories and technological development of the whole industrial chain. At present, he has achieved important results in low temperature stress of oil tea, regulation of walnut oil synthesis, genome analysis of rosemary, compounding of essential oils, processing of high-quality woody edible oils, resource utilization of forestry waste, classification and integration of cotoneaster, diversity and biological control of forest diseases, and selenium-enriched cadmium-reducing walnut; he has been published as a correspondent in Trends in Plant Science, Trends in Genetics, Journals, and the Journal of the International Society for Plant Science, and as a correspondent in the Journal of the International Society for Plant Science, We have published more than 100 papers in Trends in Plant Science, Trends in Genetics, Journal of Cleaner Production and other famous journals, including 3 SCI papers with IF>10 and 1 ESI highly cited paper. We have cultivated 5 new lines of forest trees, and developed high-quality walnut oil and tea oil, rosemary essential oil and pure dew, rosemary anti-aging tea, rosemary flavor food, nano-magnetic bio-oil and tea oil. We have developed more than 10 products such as rosemary tea, rosemary flavor food and nano-magnetic biochar.


    Forest Recreation and Rural Revitalization Team: Professor Zhu Yufang presided over the completion of the provincial Science and Technology Department's research project, Research on Environmental Pressure and Ecological Regulation of Ecotourism Resources in Henan Province, which explored the response mechanism of ecotourism resources to tourism disturbance behavior on the basis of systematic analysis of ecotourism resources in Henan Province in terms of their types, characteristics, the status quo of tourism development and the prospects of development, and applied Geographic Information System (GIS), Remote sensing technology (RS) and field field survey to analyze the environmental pressure characteristics of ecotourism resources in typical tourist attractions in Henan Province, and accordingly establish the ecological safety evaluation index system of tourist attractions, followed by the evaluation of environmental indicators of ecotourism resources in Henan, and finally, put forward suggestions on the ecological construction of tourist attractions in Henan from the aspects of the management system, ecological protection technology, environmental education and governmental supervision to realize the tourism The interaction between resource development and regional ecological economy, and the win-win situation between tourism resource development and regional ecological environment protection. The application results of this project have passed the appraisal and reached the leading position in China, and won the Second Prize of Henan Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress.
