In recent years, the College has successively undertaken more than 300 national and provincial research projects, including 51 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 8 sub-topics of national key research and development projects, and 2 major science and technology projects of Henan Province. The College has won 10 national and provincial scientific research achievements, including 1 national scientific and technological progress award, 1 national education ministry scientific and technological progress award, 1 Henan provincial scientific and technological progress award, and 4 Henan provincial scientific and technological progress second prizes. The College has taken the lead in conducting research on the structure and cultivation technology of solar greenhouses and giant greenhouses, which has changed the vegetable production mode and market supply status in Henan Province, filling the gap in central China; research on the integrated regulation of water and fertilizer for vegetables and simple cultivation technology for fruit trees has improved the production level of the horticultural industry in central China. The College has successively bred more than 80 new varieties of horticultural crops, including 2 national varieties, which have been promoted and applied in more than 20 provinces and regions. The College has authorized 28 national invention patents, formulated 8 industry (local) standards, and edited or co-edited 34 monographs or teaching materials. The College has published more than 140 SCI, EI, and ISTP papers, as well as more than 420 domestic core journal papers, including 14 papers with an IF of ≥5.0 or a Top journal.
