The construction of the major began in the year of 2002 when the former Physics teaching and research Department of Basic College recruited students of Electronic Information Science andTechnology majors. In the year of 2003, the Chemistry Teaching and Research Department began to recruit students of Applied Chemistry. In 2020, Chemical Biology and the Internet of Things (IoT) started to enroll students. Currently, the college offers four undergraduate programs: Electronic Information Science and Technology, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Biology and Internet of Things.
