Henan Agricultural University is one of the earliest universities in Henan Province to carry out Cross-border Cooperative Education Program for undergraduates. The International Education College (IEC), founded in January 2005, is responsible for the implementation of the exchange programs and management of the students involved as well as the teaching and administration of foreign students. 

IEC now has four Cross-border Cooperative Education Programs for undergraduates approved by the Ministry of Education. Supported by the school’s superior subjects, all the programs have made full use of foreign high-quality educational resources and introduce advanced educational concepts, curriculum systems, teaching methods and management experience. Besides, foreign original textbooks and teachers are also introduced to proactively improve students' comprehensive quality and innovative ability. The goal of IEC is to cultivate international and interdisciplinary talents with excellent morals, proficient in a foreign language, high professional competence and strong ability.

There are now 1818 undergraduate students in the college. Since the establishment of IEC, it has sent 7021 graduates to the society, with an average employment rate of 92.68%. Moreover, the number of students taking part in the postgraduate entrance examination has increased year by year, which accounts for 35.42% of the total students in 2023.

As for the education of international students, the college is mainly responsible for the management of the academic qualifications, the processing of residence permits, the teaching of Chinese language and the daily management of international students, etc. The college can independently recruit students for long-term and short-term Chinese language study. IEC pays attention to the cultural education of international students and regularly organizes and conducts various Chinese and foreign cultural exchange activities to enrich the life of international students at school. Students from more than 30 countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Germany, France, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, etc., have studied at IEC. Since the establishment of the college, it has cultivated more than 1100 foreign students. At present, there are totally 103 international students enrolled, including 64 undergraduates, 8 masters and 31 doctoral students.

IEC always focuses on the university's goal of creating a world-class agricultural university with Chinese characteristics, adheres to the principle of establishing the college on the basis of quality and strengthening the college on the basis of characteristics, integrates high-quality educational resources at home and abroad, and endeavors to build a demonstration highland for the cultivation of internationalized talents in the university, so as to contribute to the establishment of a double first-class university.
