Founded in 1912, Forestry is a national first-class undergraduate program and a pilot program for the reform of the National Program for Educational Training of Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents. Tourism Management was founded in 2002 and selected as a first-class undergraduate major construction point in Henan Province in 2021. With ecotourism, forest recreation, agricultural recreation and rural tourism as its schooling characteristics, the program cultivates students with basic theoretical knowledge of management, ecology and planning; a systematic mastery of basic practical skills in tourism resource protection and development, forest recreation resource assessment, forest recreation planning, design and service product research and development, tourism operation and management, and intelligent tourism; and the ability to work in relevant governmental departments such as the Department of Culture and Tourism, the Bureau of Natural Resources, and the Bureau of Urban and Rural Planning; national parks, urban and rural planning bureaus, and other relevant governmental departments. The Economic Forestry program is one of the first five colleges and universities in China to offer the Economic Forestry program.
