In recent years, 617 high-level papers have been published, including important academic achievements published in high-level international academic journals such as Nature Communications, Plant Cell, PNAS, Nucleic Acid Research, and Molecular Plant. The college has hosted major research projects for the 14th Five-Year Plan, national key basic research development plans (973) projects, national natural science foundation international cooperation projects, national natural science foundation projects, and provincial major special projects. In addition, it has also hosted over 10 provincial and ministerial key projects, including an 863 project, 6 863 sub-projects, and 6 973 sub-projects, as well as 121 other provincial and ministerial projects with an average annual funding of 28 million yuan.

Currently, the college has 10 national and provincial quality courses and 10 teaching masters. In addition, it has received four second prize awards for provincial teaching research achievements, chaired over 40 educational research projects from associations such as the Chinese Higher Education Society, provincial education department, and provincial social science league, passed over 30 teaching research assessments, and compiled over 20 national planning textbooks. The college has also carried out over 200 school-level open and innovative experimental projects to improve students' hands-on ability and innovation ability. It also has nearly 30 teaching practice bases such as Henan Shuanghui, Zhoukou Lotus, Zhongda Hengyuan, Baiyunshan, Xuchang Shijiuxiang, Xinxiang Wanshan Mountain, and Nanyang Baotianman, laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-quality talents.

The college actively participates in local economic and social development, and proactively meets and serves the national rural revitalization and poverty alleviation work. We will extensively carry out agricultural science and technology services by taking the chair units of provincial-level societies such as the Genetics Society and the Botanical Society, post scientists in industrial technology systems, poverty alleviation experts in villages, doctor service groups, and science and technology commissioners as the starting point. Actively participate in the scientific and technological supervision of Henan's staple food, serve the development of edible fungi and other industries, and carry out cooperation and collaborative innovation with well-known enterprises such as Shiji Xiang Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Lianhua Health Industry Group, Zhongda Hengyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Ping An Seed Industry, and Baiyunshan Pharmaceutical Industry. At the first China Henan Open Innovation and Transnational Technology Transfer Conference, Professor Yang Sen transferred the patent license of artificial breeding of black water fly and industrial application technology of biotransformation of palm residue and kitchen waste to Singapore Nanda Company, and received a transfer fee of 12.9 million yuan. The college actively participated in and promoted the joint construction of the Henan Modern Agricultural Research Institute with the Zhoukou National Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Zone, with four professors serving as the chief experts in the fields of corn, sweet potato, edible fungi, and agricultural waste utilization, to help the organic connection between national poverty alleviation and rural revitalization. Together with the cooperative enterprise Shiji Xiang Biotechnology Company, it entered the list of agricultural germplasm resource protection units in Henan Province, and the edible mushroom industry research institute established by both parties was officially established. The college was awarded the Advanced Collective of Social Service and the exemplary organization of the University Science and Technology Promotion Year.

The college has always adhered to the guiding ideology of everything for students, everything for students, everything for all students, adhered to the principle of moral education first, education for all, and armed young college students with the socialist core values. In the past decade, it has won the first, second, third and excellent organization awards in the National Undergraduate Life Science Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National Undergraduate Life Science Competition, the Challenge Cup National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Works Competition, the Internet plus, the Youth Creation Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Competition and other events. More than 100 students went to famous universities in the United States, Britain and other countries for study, research and exchange. Jointly run with the Mongolian University of Life Sciences, the first batch of 15 undergraduate students in the Yellow River International College program majoring in biotechnology were enrolled. An agreement was reached with the University of Teramo in Italy to jointly train doctoral students in biotechnology. Xu Bin, a postgraduate majoring in microbiology, successfully completed the 29th Chinese Antarctic scientific expedition, winning honors for our university and receiving praise from school leaders and teachers and students. The college pays high attention to the employment of college students, gradually explores and implements the 541 project for the employment of college graduates, and the rate of postgraduate entrance examination for undergraduate graduates is stable at over 50%, and the employment rate is stable at over 96%. Seven excellent master's theses have been awarded, and 72 SCI papers and 172 Chinese core journal papers have been published by graduate students.
