ZHENGZHOU - On 21st March HAU welcomes the delegation from S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (SSKATU), headed by Prof A. Kurishbayev, the President. Prof. ZHANG Gaiping, President of HAU and Academician of the Chinese Engineering and Prof. SHANG Fude, Vice-President of HAU meet with Prof. Kurishbayev, officers from related colleges and departments attend the meeting.
Prof. ZHANG Gaiping extends warm welcome to Prof. Kurishbayev and his party, and introduces briefly about Henan Province and HAU. He points out that China and Kazakhstan have strong complementarity in agriculture, which has broad development prospect under the Belt and Road Initiatives proposed by Chairman XI Jinping in Kazakhstan. SSKATU is an important partner of HAU, both Universities are founding members of the Silk Road Agricultural Education and Sci-Tech Innovation Alliance. Based on existing successful cooperation, both Universities should promote mutually-beneficial cooperation in the future, making contributions together to the economic development and social progress of both China and Kazakhstan.
Prof. Kurishbayev briefly introduces SSKATU and expresses the willingness to promote all-around cooperation and exchange with HAU. He presents Prof. ZHANG Gaiping the Kazakh Government Foreign Contributor Medal for the 60th Anniversary of SSKATU.
Officers from related colleges and departments respectively introduce HAU’s teaching and research activities in agronomy, animal science, vet. medicine, horticulture, life science, agricultural mechanisation, agricultural informatisation, etc. Cooperation possibilities in academic exchange, research/technological cooperation and international student recruitment are discussed, with broad consensus reached.
Prof. Kurishbayev and his party also visit the Agricultural Big Data Innovation Centre and the College of Animal Science and Vet. Medicine in Longzihu Campus of HAU as well as Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Animal Immunology, and have broad and in-depth exchange with HAU students and faculty members in agricultural big-data application, livestock breed improvement, animal disease prevention and rapid detection, etc.
