The signing ceremony on technology transfer of new wheat and corn varieties has been held on June 10th in Longzihu campus of HAU. The technology of the new wheat variety “Yu’nong 902” , cultivated by Professor Yin Guihong’s team from Agricultural College, was transferred to China National Seed Group Co. Ltd. for 2.38 million RMB. And the transfer of its new corn variety “Yudan 888” by Professor Tang Jihua’s team, was realized at the price of 2 million RMB to Hongxiang Seed Industry Co. Ltd. of Jilin Hongxiang Agricultural Group. In addition, Henan Baojing Agricultural Co. Ltd invested 1 million RMB with the team of Professor Tang Jihua to jointly develop the new corn variety.
“Yu’nong 902” features stable high yield and strong resistance to Fusarium head blight (FHB), drought, lodging and dry-hot wind, improving the quality of seeds by both high output and scab resisting,while “Yudan 888” set a yield record of 1205.1 kg per mu last year in the demonstration base.
HAU will continously start from the cultivation of high-quality seeds, deepen industry-education integration, and speed up the application of scientific and technological advance, rolling out the competitive varieties to the market. In this way, the technology of developing seeds will provide support for rural revitalization, thus increasing rural incomes to make farmers' way to wealth.
