On March 26, the Education Department of Henan Province convened an online-offline hybrid seminar to exchange views on the building the First-Class University and First-Class Disciplines of Henan Agricultural University.
On behalf of HAU, President Jie Xiaolei reported the Action Plan on Building HAU into a First-Class University. Academic Vice President Wang Daowen and Dean Zhang Longxian of the College of Veterinary Medicine respectively reported plans to create the First-Class Disciplines of crop science and veterinary medicine.
Also in attendance were an expert panel comprised of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and leading scholars at home and abroad. They gave full recognition of the HAU’s plans and after in-depth deliberation, who at the same time offered practical comments and suggestions about HAU’s building plans.
Placed in the second tier among universities of Henan Province striving for the Double-First Class initiative, Henan Agricultural University is on the way to becomeing a First-Class university with First-Class disciplines.
