According to recent news, the 2022 Henan Provincial Science and Technology Award winners were announced. Professor Kang Xiangtao from HAU received the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award, and three projects - "Key Technologies for the Cultivation and Industrial Improvement of New Species of Paulownia", "Mechanism and Control of Major Root and Stem Diseases of Wheat", and "Breeding and Molecular Breeding Technology Innovation of Early, Middle, and Late Maturing Peach New Varieties" - won the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress First Prize. The number of first prizes won has reached a new high. With this, our school now has four professors, Zhang Gaiping, Fan Guoqiang, Wang Zelin, and Kang Xiangtao, having received the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Outstanding Contribution Award.
In addition, our school also won four second prizes and two third prizes in the Henan Provincial Science and Technology Progress and Natural Science Awards.
In recent years, our school has actively carried out organized cultivation of scientific achievements, innovated the output system and mechanism of achievements, actively built a "five-dimensional" scientific and technological innovation model of "talents, teams, disciplines, projects, and platforms," strengthened the assessment of landmark achievements such as major awards, and achieved significant results, providing strong support for HAU to build "Double First-Class" university and the creation of a world-class agricultural university with Chinese characteristics.
