Recently, the National Committee for Graduate Education of Agricultural Professional Degrees announced the list of national training bases for "Science and Technology Backyards" in 2023. HAU and eight other universities, including China Agricultural University, were selected.
Since 2012, HAU has established the first "Science and Technology Backyard" in Yuzhou, Henan Province, and created a new mode of training for graduate students. In 2021, HAU took the lead in establishing the China Agricultural Technology Association Science and Technology Backyards Alliance (Henan), promoting the construction of science and technology backyards and the training of graduate students to a new level. In 2022, HAU was selected as a national construction unit for science and technology backyards, gradually improving the talent cultivation system for graduate students.
The national training bases for "Science and Technology Backyards" aim to improve management, promote experience exchange, guide each training unit to create distinguish features, complete functions, become a institute with demonstration and driving effect, and serve the revitalization of rural talent. HAU will take this opportunity to standardize the construction and management of science and technology backyards, ensure the high-quality implementation of talent training plans, and better demonstrate the role of science and technology backyards in talent cultivation and scientific and technological services.
