On September 14, the university held a grand opening ceremony for the Class of 2024 across its three campuses. A total of 8,251 undergraduate students and 2,133 graduate students from across the country officially joined the Henan Agricultural University. The main ceremony took place at the Wenhua Road campus, with the Longzi Lake and Xuchang campuses participating via livestream.
The ceremony began with the raising of the national flag to the stirring sound of the March of the Volunteers, as attendees, including university leaders and faculty, sang the national anthem together. In a symbolic moment, university leaders presented the new students with the university emblem, marking their official induction into the Henan Agricultural University community.
University President, Academician Zhou Wei of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, welcomed the new students, encouraging them to cherish their time at the university, embrace the pursuit of knowledge, and remain resilient in the face of challenges.
As the anthem Song of Green echoed across the campuses, the powerful pledge of Henan Agricultural University students to dedicate their youth to green causes and make the motherland a paradise once again resonated. The Class of 2024 is expected to navigate future challenges with courage, making their youth shine brightly through hard work and dedication, and together writing a new chapter in the university’s journey toward becoming a world-class agricultural institution with Chinese characteristics.
