The 9th National Eagle Cup Small Animal Veterinarian Skills Competition was held at Henan Agricultural University on October 13. This year, the finals attracted over 1,000 students from more than 130 universities across the country, along with hundreds of clinical veterinarians, marking a new high in the scale of the event.
The competition was divided into two groups: the Undergraduate Group and the Clinical Group, with the latter further split into General Practitioner Group and Specialist Group. Competitions in each group took place simultaneously, covering various core skills related to small animal medicine, including theoretical contests, knowledge quizzes, case presentations, and hands-on practicals.
After two days of intense competition, awards were presented for the team championship in the undergraduate group, the Rising Veterinarian Award, the General Practitioner Award, the Specialist Award, and the Best Organizing Institution Award. Notably, our university achieved historic milestones, winning the Special Team Award in the 9th Eagle Cup Small Animal Veterinarian Skills Competition, the Excellent Instructor Award, and the Rising Veterinarian Award, as well as being recognized as the Best Organizing Institution.
