On October 23, Sultan Gaziev, Governor of the Almaty Region in Kazakhstan, visited the university along with a delegation.
University President Zhou Wei welcomed the delegation with a speech, providing an overview of the university’s history, achievements, and academic strengths. He highlighted the longstanding collaboration between the university and the Almaty Region, as well as partnerships with Kazakhstani universities in the field of agriculture. Zhou underscored the success of joint initiatives in teaching, research, faculty and student exchanges, and international cooperation. He expressed the university’s commitment to openness and emphasized the potential for further cooperation with the Almaty Region in agriculture, transportation, and other fields, aiming to achieve new milestones under the Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Governor Sultan Gaziev commended the university’s development and acknowledged the progress achieved in the collaboration between both sides, particularly in agricultural technology and food safety. He highlighted the vast potential for cooperation between the Almaty Region and Henan Province in agriculture and expressed hope for deeper exchanges in areas such as modern agricultural technology and agricultural product processing. He wished the university continued success in its pursuit of becoming a world-class agricultural university.
